Going to try the whole Beach Body / Shakeology thing

Ok. So I’m a skeptic. A big skeptic. I’m also somebody who wants to do things all by myself and make my own way in the world. I’m not one to join a program or pay for a diet or anything like that. In the past, this has worked well for me. Lately, however, I’ve been having more trouble. My motivation is a huge issue and I’m feeling pretty alone in this whole fitness journey. My husband is supportive, but he’s already in pretty good shape right now and could run a half marathon tomorrow if he had to.

Me? Not so much. My willpower is at an all time low and I’m just feeling like maybe it’s time to enlist some support.

I’ve heard a lot about Beach Body and Shakeology and I know people who are doing it. I know it’s a business you can get into and sell the products and all of that, but honestly, I have noticed a change in the people I know who do it, so I’m thinking what the hell? Why not?

So….I find myself signing up for the shakes and I guess it comes with the coach support and the access to streaming workout videos and stuff. Maybe what I need is somebody holding me accountable. I love my husband, but when he says, “hey I’m on my way home from work, do you want me to pick something up?” and my answer is, “Taco Bell”…I need somebody to say no instead of “Nachos or cheesy gordita crunch?”

So, we’ll see how this goes. Honestly, I’ve got nothing to lose. Either it works or it doesn’t. Either I like it or I don’t. I figure either I’ll spend a little money, try it, and realize it’s not for me…or I’ll try it, love it, and get results.

  1. Haha I hate it when I’ve been eating healthy all day and on his way home my boyfriend texts me if I want something from the supermarket, because I know he isn’t referring to a piece of fruit. Must. Be. Strong haha! Curious to see if the whole shake thing is helpful!

    • Oh my gosh I know what you mean! So far the shakes are actually helping. They taste pretty sweet so it is helping me not dive into a vat of chocolate cake and cookies and eat my way out of it. I’ll check out the group 🙂

      • That’s always a good thing. I tend to drink heaps and heaps of tea when I think I’m hungry, and at work it definitely does the trick. No birthday cake for me at the office haha. Awesome to hear that, hope to see you there!

      • I drink a lot of water and tea at work. Thankfully I have a pretty fit office (San Diego and all) so there’s not too much cake being pushed upon us (although we do have a girl who makes green juice for everybody…I love San Diego). It’s my after work and weekend adventures that get me into trouble! Well, that and my one coworker with a desk full of candy. I checked out the group briefly the other day. Seems cool! I’ll have to think about what I want to post 🙂
